The Opposite of Belated
Sep. 5th, 2012 02:49 amChad called just after midnight to be the first to wish me a happy birthday. Although it is possible he just got the date wrong (my birthday is the sixth), it's equal odds that either he was honoring the Faienza three-day-birthday high holiday tradition or that he was really determined to be the first to wish me a happy birthday. (Val sort of also jumped the gun. But later on. Also Ciro. People get excited.) I admire that kind of ambition, so Chad I say to you now, two months in advance, happy birthday. If I have come in second to somebody who has already wished you happy birthday, I will die.

Rowr!
Date: 2012-09-06 10:24 pm (UTC)I got it right, right? It's today. The mnemonic device I created to remember Romie's, Val's, and Matt's birthdays is correct! 5,6, blank 8! FIVE SIX BLANK EIGHT! I'm right. Romie's is two months before mine. See how easy that is to remember? It must be right on those GROUNDS ALOOOOOOOONE!
This went on for some time. I have now replaced it with "5,6,7,8 who do we appreciate" because that's also easy to remember. Now, if you tell me that I was wrong again, and Val's birthday is a day BEFORE yours ... well I dunno what I'll do.
You are in fact the first to wish me a happy birthday, and I thank you.
