Runny Nose

I have a couple of back entries I wrote while on holiday - one really depressing one about the death of the Enlightenment, and one sort of Jungian archetypal one about how your friends are actually representations of your inner psyche. I can't really get up the motivation to type them in right now, though. I can't get up the motivation to do much of anything, including looking for a job which I desperately need or writing an e-mail to Val.

Our government is run by liars and cowards who seek to suspend the rights on which the country is founded - and so far, they seem to be pretty damn successful, which isn't so hard when you demolish the system of checks and balances. As an economist, I believe in dollar votes, so I keep putting off doing my income taxes. I haven't gotten a new job. I avoid buying things with sales taxes. I use very little gas.

Yesterday someone said on the radio that "idiotic peacenik wannabe-hippies" should fuck off and die because we have to attack Iraq to prevent terrorist acts like the Oklahoma City Bombing.

I hate this country.

I know you probably didn't mean for this post to be funny, but you sure brightened my day with that line.

At this point, I figure we should just go around doing what we've been doing. Don't give support to any group, just act as if it isn't happening. That's more detrimental to the "American Cause" than any demonstration.

Anyway, I hope you feel better (cause that's the best I can give you right now except a list of possible causes for a runny nose or the chemical composition of those secretions).

I hate this country

Well, that's one thing you and Iraq have in common.
Sorry, trite I know, but when I tried to compose a rational answer it swiftly became a two-page rant.
