I've been thinking sort of half-heartedly about Canada, as it's close to Michigan but cold. US making me mad. Very. Hate it in fact. Executive branch far too powerful, healthcare system stupid, social security double stupid, no funding for the arts, too much funding for military, frankly outdated decision-making process. Also dumb: drug laws and prison system. Feel throughly disenfranchised, no longer wish to be associated as per citizenship. Bush approval rating 60 percent. At same time, nobody likes his energy policy, military policy, economic policy. You say "hey, do you like anything he's doing?" and the answer she comes back "no". "But you still like him, though?" "Oh yes, he's doing a very good job."

Like Australia more, but hole in ozone layer. Also poisonous things - much like Texas, actually. In fact, I believe Australia is more like Texas these days than Texas is. Wear similar hats, are crazier. Eat possums. Val will not agree to go as there are sharks. Possibly they walk on land with silver legs and golden feet; possibly they ride elephants, just trampling and eating everything they see.

They're subtle, they are, with their tin-foil fins and cigarette burns. You can't trust them. Canada is eminently safer. All hail the Union Jack.

Still, go where you need to go.

And remember, some acting places are practically not in America.

The only sticking point as far as I can see is that a lot of Canadians are ::whisper it:: very, very boring. They don't drink enough. The entire society is mindlessly convenience based; microwavable bacon anyone? Drive-thru coffee shops? *Madness*.
Mind you, that can't possibly account for the entire country.
Australia is the way forward though my friend.

Romie, get this: Em's moving to London, Canada, which is about an hour from where I'll live with Susan & Jeff.

AHHH!

I stand corrected. MI is the way forward.

Yehaw!

Truly, I am amazed. My life is amazingly fortuitous.

Did ye, by any chance, find out about the bus schedules?

Yes. It's the OCDickness in me ::grin:: The bus timetable was insanely long - it must stop at every town en-route, but driving it's just over 2 hours. And I will have a car.

A little worried at the moment since my sole experience of driving on the wrong side of the road has been in an SUV on Newfoundland's wide open highways with no insurance. Still, I'm a good driver. Honest.

Having gone from right to left side of the road, I can honestly tell you it's not as hard as it seems. Although the first few days you do drive with both hands on the wheel mumbling 'the OTHER side of the road, girl, the OTHER'.

Em, Dee, and Amanda. Damn that's cool. I'm tempted.

I know!

although, obviously, please dont' make this decision entirely based on them, not that you would, plus it's a long time away, but, you know, irrational paranoia. Em will still be an hour away at least, as will Amanda, although Dee (hopefully) will be pretty close.

Although God that'd be amazing.

I wonder what the theatre scene is like around there?

I'm not actually all that close to michigan.
Actually, I think I'm closer to texas than I am to michigan.
Yep.

I've thought about Canada for all the same reasons, especially since it now seems I'll have to make a decision much sooner than anticipated. Chances are I'll end up in London, though, drunk and destitute, just for the sake of playing with my friends while I can.

Hum dee hum dee hummm. *plays with blocks* I liked The Hours. Did you see it?

This is the way of sharks. This is their nature. The trick is in neither flight nor confrontation, but simply in acknowledgement. Sharks need a little attention from time to time just like we do, and trying to ignore them would only make it worse.

This coming from me.
