Tired. Tired like my eyes are boiling pots of acid and my arms are yoked.

I cried today. Briefly. At work. The manager was worried, as was the rest of the staff, although I tried very hard to explain to them that I was crying for humanity's lack of internal logic. To whit: why would one go to a restauraunt where one had to replace every single item on the menu with subsitutions? Also, why does China still occupy Tibet, and what will happen when the current incarnation of the Dalai Lama dies and they must begin a search for his next iteration?

The management very kindly suggested that I go to the restroom and clean up a bit. Then they asked me to pick up a shift tonight.

[That was a punchline.]

[I turned them down, of course.]

[Instead I went to K-mart, where I considered buying a wedding band for Patrick, simply because it would utterly horrify him. Not the wedding band - the K-mart-ness. In fact, when I said "hey, Patrick, want to get married in a couple of weeks?" while he was on the phone with his mother, his auto-response was "I get to have a ring, right?" He's going to make a lovely bride, I think.]

In case anyone's curious, I do still have a job and am generally well-liked. At the same time, I'm hard-pressed as to how I'll salvage the day. Mostly I'm thinking pumpkin pie and beating up undead ninja samurai, but it's possible that I'll find room in there to read Goethe.

Random question because I'm curious: Does anyone else time how long to leave conditioner in their hair by singing a set section of an operetta?

Right so. Um. Wow, and Congratulations. Sometimes your life reads like a story book and I can't really believe in it.

Anyways, I don't time my conditioner by operatta sections, but i usually do one musical song and that about sets us me up right.

(sheepishly) I meant to call you. Multiple times. Ask Patrick. I still intend to, I just keep remembering at times when I don't have my phone with me. If it makes you feel any better, I haven't told my grandparents either.

If there is any justice in this world, then yes.

Sadly, I do not sing an operetta in an attempt to time the conditioner in my hair. Instead I shampoo my hair first, then I put in conditioner. I then assume that all the other cleaning of my body should take about the right amount of time for the conditioner to be finished just as I've completed all other forms of showerly body maintainence.

This seems logical, but perhaps I have too much faith in the talents of the hair care industry.

Wow. I feel like I've turned my back and everyone in the room has paired up whilst I wasn't looking. When in Canada I deliberately bought items of clothing in Walmart just to impress my friends when I got home: 'Yes, these are my Walmart pants. Would you like to stroke them?'. Congratulations and all that; as Dee said it's all a tad storybook, though in the best possible taste.

And if I knew any operettas doubtless I'd sing them. As is I leave conditioner in for however long it takes to wash my feet in the shower, or to finish my wine in the bath.

Now I am facing a bit of a dillema, as I can't decide whether it is better to sing or to drink wine, and I think it is a poor idea to combine them in most cases. That is, there are drinking songs, but you sing them more while you're waiting for a refill in my experience.
