Not writing much at the moment because I have a head cold and all I want to do is sleep and complain about people, both of which work better in person.

I am managing to do a backlog of dishes in a spring cleaning sort of way, where I not only do dishes that need to be done, but do dishes that don't strictly need to be done, like scrubbing the undersides of kettles and pots to make them shiny, or soaking bits of the oven range. And it is not because it is spring: It is because I like standing over steaming water. I have a head cold.

Need to? No. This is definitely not a need-to task. It's a way to not be interrupted while I stand over a steaming sink so my nose feels better. But in terms of the how, usually a mildly abrasive powdered cleanser with oxalic acid in it (removes rust, grease, and other stains from metals), such as Barkeeper's Friend.
