Have returned from New Mexico, where my only regret is that I did not drink all the horchata and eat all the green chile.

I partook of tamales and smooth French absinthe, and stood on or by many large rocks.

Green chiles! Double Yay! Can you get them frozen anywhere locally? The frozen ones can be pretty good.

My local groceries are unfortunately pretty dire. I frequently have to go four different places to get the stuff I need to make a recipe and still need to make some substitutions. (I say "I need," but I actually mean Ciro needs. My less ambitious strategy is more often to see what is available and improvise from there.) It was a major victory to get frozen okra, which I think my mom accomplished by bugging the closest grocery about it for upwards of 10 years.
