October, awwww yesssss
Sep. 30th, 2013 05:53 pmI asked Mom to pick up "monster cerial, any sort" on her grocery store trip, because Acevedo and I have a friendship pact that in October we each eat at least one box of seasonal cerial in tribute to our friendship pact. (This club, she is open enrollment, if you are monster cerial inclined.) Apparently, perhaps because it is the last day of September and perhaps because our grocery store is appallingly badly stocked despite having endless shelves, none of the classic monster cerials were available - Boo Berry, Count Chocula, etc.
What we have instead is some newfangled Halloween-inflected Cap'n Crunch, some pieces of which are orange ghosts (I know from the box graphic, because they don't look like ghosts) which when you pour milk on them turn green as though they are molding and then dye the milk green.
It is pretty awful, so Ciro and I have of course eaten a lot of it already. It has only been in the house for 30 minutes.
