My 90-year-old gran is in town. I got a special pass to meet her at the gate, but the flight landed a half hour early and security was slow (not the TSA people; the passengers, who did not understand queueing. How adults who don't understand queueing are still alive is a mystery to me, unless many more people have their groceries delivered and/or farm their land than I realize.) But since I was 30 minutes early just in case, and fleet of foot, I made it to the baggage claim before her luggage came off the plane.

Which honestly would have been a perfectly good plan in the first place. Dad and Aunt Betsy and for that matter Nana (my gran) worry about these things, but Nana is perfectly astute, hardier than most people 20 years younger than she is, and incredibly sociable to the extent she is actually always able to rely on the kindness of strangers. Would not let me carry her bag. Has subtly rearranged my bathroom even though I straightened it up before she came; my toothbrush is allowed to be crooked, but the box I set at a 45 degree angle has been quietly corrected to a 90 degree angle for her peace of mind.

I have taken possibly three naps today. It may also have been two. A nap-heavy day. And played cards and watched Sherlock, not concomitantly.

Had this funny thought process where I was like: "It's possible not to understand queuing? Do I understand queuing? Is this a trick question?" For a second there, great philosophical ramifications were all up in my grill.
