Wait. What? THE Hacker Noir? I'm all sorts of curious about where you will take it. I've always wanted to see you make a Noir and also to see where you would take the Hacker Noir if you got around to making it. I'm glad to see it's not dead, or that it is back to life. I've buried so many stories.
It is so very strange to realize that I finally have a professional outlet to tell stories from, but I dedicate so much of my time to stories created by other people. I'm so wrapped up in storytelling at work, that my hobby time gets dedicated to other outlets. Like procedural content generation.
I'm not sure how much is going to survive from the original except the general idea of "hacker noir" and that there is a character named Bit who one talks to on the phone. It'd be cool if we could get RJD2 for the soundtrack, but music licencing is something I've been trying to avoid where possible.
For several years I was putting it off because I was conceiving it as a miniseries for UK television, but then I realized it was hooky enough I could potentially get kickstarter money for it from geeky strangers (I mean, it's the kind of concept I'd throw a few dollars toward) if I framed it as a feature, so I'm putting together a draft to see how I feel about it. How I feel about it so far seems to be "ranty about Apple." Write what you know, I guess.
Incidentally, as I've referenced in my journal a few times, I've been playing a lot of Skyrim, and the design of one of the random missions not connected to the storyline really felt like you in a couple of places. I don't know what it was; something about where the platforms were relative to each other. It felt totally unlike the rest of the game in a way I find hard to explain other than I like it a lot.
It was late enough at night that I didn't think to write down the name of the mission to point out to you, which would have been helpful.
