Also, we have ordered the new Decemberists album.

I like the new Decemberists' album very much - it's far less of a concept one than their previous stuff, indeed it sounds like it was recorded in a barn (which it was), but I enjoyed that. Seeing them on the 1st, damn excited!

I think my first exposure to them was actually a "Soldiering Life" Sharpe's Rifles vid you linked to. I may be misremembering. Regardless, great vid.

Me too! All I recall is they cut the lines 'And proud array standing by the bathing/Soldiers and the stevedores' to the scene where Sharpe is having one of his (thankfully many) washes in the water trough, and some child-soldier is checking out his flogging scars. As they say, the slash writes itself.
