Mar. 3rd, 2010 08:15 pmWell, I am officially promoted to On-Air Voicewriter. I was already doing everything this involves, and now I don't have to do trainee documentation anymore! Hooray! More money for less work! (I say this, but I think my take home pay is actually going to be almost exactly the same because of the cost of adding Ciro to my health plan. I haven't figured out whether it's exactly the same, slightly less, or slightly more, because I haven't wanted to do the math involved with pre-tax versus post-tax, swing shifts, and so forth. The need to do this math is probably going to get to me soon, though. I always tell myself to estimate but then feel a compulsion to sit down and write out precise equations. Damn you, engineering background.)
Yesterday, our neighbor gave us a chemistry set as a wedding present because she understands that when we put "glassware" on a registry (which we did not) we mean something different than the average bride and groom. We have our own bunsen burner now, along with test tube holders, eye droppers, a small scale, an erlenmeyer flask, and so much more. I want to combine sulfur with something. I don't care what.
ETA: I just ate a mineola, a tangerine/grapefruit cross I'd never heard of until yesterday. It's a little watery/acidic, but the texture sure is nice. Citrus fruits are so wacky. They're like the canis genus of the plant world.
