it's all volume, baby, all of it. in about 20 minutes when i give up the typing for the night, and that's really all i'm doing, and i try to be aware of that, i do, even though i sometimes forget, i will definitely have hit 8,000 words, and i haven't even changed stories or characters yet. wtf. LOL.
I'm pretty sure that I'm not going to make it to 50,000, partly because my writing is quite dense and partly because it's historical and I have to stop and research every once in a while to make sure that my dates are right, that people's last names indicate the right class markers, that the parts of town that are supposed to be fashionable are appropriate...LOL. Your way is better. I'm going to kill myself. ;)
