Go, Team, Go!

rinueMy home is not a pleasant place to be right now, with the exception that I have more than a dozen bottles of watermelon juice. I was supposed to go to a free movie preview with friends tonight. Instead, I am home in bed, a little stoned from anti-nausea medication, stickin' it to the man. By which I mean to say I have been utterly knocked out by food poisoning, compounded by the last remnants of a head cold.
The air conditioner kicked the bucket a few hours back. We can't open windows, mostly because they're painted shut and partly because they don't have screens and there are mosquitoes desperate to do unkind things to my person.
Ciro's schizophrenic father is suddenly sleeping under my kitchen counter, as it is the only marginally not-underfoot part of my small apartment. This means I cannot get to the refrigerator with the juice. Hopefully we will soon send him to Italy and destroy his means of getting back. He does not get a copy of our keys.
I am frustrated that I have to wear pajamas. On the other hand, the AD from Northern Exposure wants to work with me, and Arts Magnet wants me to come in and give a lecture.
