crucial-ass movies
May. 20th, 2014 01:03 pmEveryone should post their ten most CRUCIAL CRUCIAL CRUCIAL-ASS movies, like the movies that explain everything about yourselves in your current incarnations (not necessarily your ten favorite movies but the ten movies that you, as a person existing currently, feel would help people get to know you) (they can change later on obviously).
In the interest of not thinking about this way too much (and excluding my own films) . . .
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, George Roy Hill & William Goldman 1969
Tron, Steven Lisberger 1982
The Dreamers, Bernardo Bertolucci & Gilbert Adair 2003
Animal Crackers, the Marx Bros. 1930
Blade Runner, Ridley Scott & Hampton Fancher 1982
Time Bandits, Terry Gilliam 1981
Inception, Christopher Nolan 2010
Tank Girl, Rachel Talalay 1995
Three Musketeers/Four Musketeers, Richard Lester 1973-1974 (This is one movie in the same way Kill Bill is one movie. The actors were mad it was released as two films when they were paid for one film.)
The Kingdom, Von Trier 1994-1997 (I'm counting it. Because it's a tv series but only ran in cinemas in the US.)
Comments welcome if you think there is a movie I have missed which you find particularly helpful for understanding what on earth I'm up to.
