big paper hearts
Feb. 6th, 2014 03:56 pmI've been on total spending lockdown for a little while to rebuild emergency savings, since my previous stockpile got used in an emergency. And because I'm a miser anyway. But here are the things I imagine buying myself for Valentine's Day. And maybe I will, although not with any urgency.
1. Best American Poetry 2013.
2. Some new stationery. I still have some stationery. But I could have so much more.
3. Light foundation/bb creme/tinted moisturizer/whatever you want to call the makeup I use to maintain the fiction I've gotten more rest than I have, because I'm nearly out.
4. A pedicure at one of those places where the fish eat your feet. I have never had one of these, fish or no fish, but I really want to have my feet eaten. By angry fish. Pedicures seem to be things only women get, but given that in the course of one your feet are attacked by fish and then scoured with a piece of gritty, pockmarked lava, I am not sure how that fulfils gender stereotypes.
This is not a gift registry; part of the pleasure is imagining buying these things for myself.
