Dubiously spring; dubiously cleaning
May. 13th, 2012 01:05 amFirst sunny day in ages; swept yet more maple seeds off the balcony and in so doing gave myself a thumb blister. (This year's weather has confused the maple tree, which has therefore dropped seeds four or five times. I kind of hate maple trees.) The strawberries and sweet peas are coming in beautifully, and the lavender is thrilled to have been repotted. The tomatoes and basil are taking longer to establish, but that may just be their nature. I bought some low maintenance flowering vines to trellis along the railing but haven't yet knocked holes in their coffee can planters-to-be.
I've culled quite a lot of clothing from my closet, which I've put off doing for a year because it's all stuff I like, but realistically it doesn't work with my current lifestyle. For instance, floor length skirts are not practical in a house with four flights of stairs or in a climate where the ground is often wet and/or snow-covered. I finally decided I was tired of having to fight past stuff I'm not going to wear for the next couple of years in order to get to the clothes I do wear, and that it's not worth storing since I don't know after this where I am; it could be a place where these things are equally unsuitable.
Some of it's really great stuff, though. And my closet still seems crammed full and difficult to navigate. Someday. (Probably not someday.)
