Spent much of the day tramping through mud to look at possible locations, and then saw some Russian dancers at a Winter Festival in Trafalgar Square. They did all kinds of things I've mostly seen in cartoons, and they look even more unlikely when performed by people. How do the kicking kneeling men kick their legs without standing up? Where is the room for the extension? Can they telescope their calves? It's baffling. As a special treat, I bought some pork shashlik, simply because I'd never heard of it before. I think I'll stick with lamb donner, but the cabbage and mustard carrot toppings were not bad at all.

I kinda wanted to see that Russian Festival, having recently just read a novel that plays on Russian mythology. Ah well.
