You're One Hundred Years of Solitude!
by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
Lonely and struggling, you've been around for a very long time.
Conflict has filled most of your life and torn apart nearly everyone you know. Yet there
is something majestic and even epic about your presence in the world. You love life all
the more for having seen its decimation. After all, it takes a village.

Date: 2007-08-18 04:56 am (UTC)Oprah is a really popular U.S. daytime talk show host, and one of the things she does is recommend a book she likes once a month or so and encourages everyone who watches the show to read it. Then they discuss it on the show. She chooses a mix of well-respected literature and newer books. It's pretty cool because it gets a lot of people to read things they wouldn't otherwise. As a result, it drives up sales of that book, so publishers tend to, well, publicize it when a book is featured.
