It hit me today, for perhaps the first time, that the words "lucre" and "lucrative" are related. From the outside of my head, no one could tell that this connection had been absent from my mind. I could have gone my whole life without revealing this long deficit. I tell you now that it existed.

Did you know that weathermen change the pictures behind them using tiny remote controllers in their hands?! Took me 21 years to work that one out. I'm aware I look a bit of a twat when I reveal this to people, but it strikes me that there might be people just like me who haven't yet realised.

You're kidding! I thought there was maybe a guy off screen who was super good at reading the weatherman's body language or something. Or maybe all the pictures were on a timer and the weatherman's just rehearsed a lot.

Exactly! I thought that maybe there was some kind of mirror/tv monitor he could view behind the camera to give him an idea of what was on the screen. But apparently not.
