The primary problem is that I was good at everything so early that it was hard for me to know what I enjoyed; I enjoyed being good at things, and failed to seperate that from the things themselves.

Perhaps one way to look at it would be to establish which things you could stand not being good at. If you could lose your talent for it, then it must not be your calling. Unfortunately, the effectiveness of this exercise may hinge on you actually losing your talents for the things you eliminate, and I can't see you being too disposed toward doing that. I think this is one of the reasons I over-specialize.

Their is no shame in settling for a job that is most convenient for you. If what you truly enjoy is being good at something, then be good at what you do, and do what causes the least stress.
