No, no, no. You want the world saved, you just no longer feel it's your burden alone. You haven't changed your life plan or your treatment of others. If you had the chance, you'd do it. You just no longer feel the need to sacrifice yourself for the off chance of accomplishing something, and really, that's a good, because that keeps you around for real chances.
i used to think of that as selling out. then i realized that it was actually simply letting go of my pride and hubris enough to realize that i had neither the right nor the ability to save the world. true the desire drives many of us to do great things, but i tend to think in a picture much larger than the one in which i am forced to live my little life.
so, i gave up on saving the world, and instead switched to botany.
I saved the world once. But it all took place in a secret meeting in a satellite vehicle owned by the Zucchini People of Hexagon Unit 5, so I never got a Thank You card. :(
