I keep forgetting to state that I'll be in England from the morning of Sunday 17 March to the afternoon of Friday 22 March. I both get in to and depart from Gatwick, but I'll spend most of my time in Bath (with at least one excursion to Bristol). [Random note: it's been entirely too long since I was last in Portsmouth, but I will probably not make it there.]

In any case, I mention this mostly to alert people who may want to see me and people who may want to leave the country to avoid me.

I'll be there before and after but not during the time you mentioned, so it seems that stalking you is not an option. Hmph.

Say hello to Mary for me. Send me a postcard. Be careful when you participate in the druidic rites at Stonehenge. Druids cannot be trusted; they live in the forest and worship the trees.

Druids cannot be trusted - they cause the police to block off the roads for about 3 miles surrounding your house, move on to your land in buses in the middle of the night and leave their dogs behind eating plastic bags at the roadside.
Actually I always thought the druidic stonehenge rituals were rather endearing, especially since for about 3 weeks before and after my hometown used to fill up with old crusty men wandering around wild-eyed and stopping the children to converse about police brutality at the battle of the beanfield.

Why Portsmouth? I used to work in Portsmouth were all the people on the estates nearby demonstrated and burnt down the houses of the local paediatricians because they couldn't tell the difference between that and paedophile. Still the big boats are pretty.

And tea would be nice.

I always liked the big metal one, the warrior?:

me aged around 7 'but it's metal, and yet it floats? how does that work?'
my dad 'read all the stuff up around the boat, it probably tells you'
me 'you don't know do you? and you used to build yachts. *useless*'
my dad 'shut up or i won't buy you ice cream'
