My understanding about Albert Nobbs is that this is what has failed her. This lack of chemistry thing. And the result is a horribly miscast Mia Wasikovska (whom I think I may well like despite the whole Alice atrocity) and Glenn getting pwnd by Janet McTeer who, let's face it, has been underappreciated since they remade her one noteworthy performance (Tumbleweeds, which I haven't seen) into a chick flick starring Susan Sarandon and Natalie Portman (Anywhere but Here, which I have).
They have tossed some interesting foils at her on Damages, but none with any sexual chemsitry/charisma. I am inclined by nature to like Glenn Close. In the Gloaming (dir. Christopher Reeves) for HBO was an astonishing short piece of acting with her and David Strathairn before he was DAVID STRATHAIRN, but she gets by on how much I like her.
(Incidentally, my ability to name/title drop accurately without constantly referencing IMDB has been getting me some attention recently. I know I need to relocate. I know I need help. Full stop.)
