I got all the way through it because I kept waiting for "the good part" to kick in, on the grounds that there had to be a "the good part" or nobody would be so rabid. Like maybe finally it would get back to the guy at the inn and they'd resolve the crazy stuff going on and I'd get to understand why I was being told all this backstory which so far seemed pointless. But then that didn't happen. And everybody was excited for a sequel and I was thinking: great, more backstory. It is like if the entirety of Star Wars was the prequel trilogy.
It did give me an idea that if I want to derail an interview at some point, I can start an anecdote about kindergarten as though it's going to tie into the question, but then instead keep talking about my early childhood for an hour.
