Everyone in the house has a cold. Except dad. Except dad, everyone in the house has a cold. I am not convinced it is the same cold. Nor have we been encoldened for the same length of time. My cold expresses itself (ha ha) through the following mechanism: 15-30 minutes after I wake up, I cough up an eighth of a teaspoon of mucus. The amount of mucus has not varied for a month and a half, although the color has been varying shades of clear, white, and pale yellow. I tire easily.

As we all have colds, nobody is available to take care of anyone else. Caretaking of this sort is not within dad's locus of competence.

I intend to start eating people soon, but suspect I am late to the party.
