Making Things Nice Sometimes
May. 20th, 2013 04:52 pmI am feeling pleased with myself because I have successfully rescued a fleet of dying houseplants, which didn't take effort so much as being able to recognize what was wrong. (In short, everything: dark room, pots too small, not watered enough.) This was nearly two months ago, and now you can't tell most of them ever had any problems. They are all tiny terrarium-scale plants, which makes their responses to stimuli especially obvious; when their leaves lean toward the window, there is no ambiguity - they are leaning their little hearts out.
(Note to non-gardeners: plants do not have hearts. They are dead inside. Second note to non-gardeners: living plants are not dead. These are the incredible true facts I have learned in my container gardening journey.)
