Not Optimal

Had to wake up for a morning event Saturday (details when I'm less tired) and have not been able to catch up on missed sleep at all, despite best efforts.

Have sliced open pad of right index finger on mysteriously booby-trapped salsa lid. Culprit still not found. Finger band-aided and awkward. Is primary finger. Function loss.

Deadlines. Not oppressive deadlines. But not deadlines that allow for shilly-shallying.

Get with it, finger platelets and sleep machine.

Decided today to learn how to do cryptic crosswords. Because, damn it. It is very slow going for now; I don't recognize their little insider references yet. (Like how regular crosswords constantly use oleo and olio, like no other native English speaker.) Have worked out 4 clues. Took me maybe 3 hours. Not consecutively, and in tandem with for instance cleaning the kitchen.
