Multum in Parvo
Jun. 26th, 2011 02:54 amDays and days of cold and wet. It's like being in England. In autumn. A bit of a blessing, though; in real summer, my office, a converted attic, can get muggy.
Scarlett says there are wasps on the porch. Must find and destroy.
Took the cats in for rabies shots Friday, which was mostly uneventful, although it did require passage through one of those wonderful parts of Cambridge where you can't left turn or U turn for several miles. Had to cut left through a series of right turns through a campus. (The streets are not, of course, a grid system.) Both cats have clean bills of health; we worried Ham had ear mites, but it was just dirt. He does love to roll in dirt.
Got very lonely for a few minutes today, but could tell it wasn't real somehow. Remembered some psych experiments which found people feel more included in a discussion if they're holding a hot beverage than a cold one, so I put on a warmer sweater and then felt all right. It's odd to have real and not-real emotions, but I suppose it truly isn't; one can hallucinate any sensory experience. Being alive is quite amazing.
