Eruption of an Egg Capsule
Jul. 23rd, 2010 05:52 pmBad night. Got very little sleep. As a result, discovered that 4:15 a.m. is the favorite time of German cockroaches. After killing 50, I lost count. (Mostly babies; an egg clearly just hatched, and they usually contain 30-60.) I would get an exterminator, if it weren't useless in a shared building. I'm worried one of the tiny ones will hitchhike to work with me, or to someone else's house. Maybe I should stay up late more regularly. Another consequence: too tired to shower in the morning, and swathed in a head scarf to cover it.
Ate a pork and tomato sandwich. Continue to wonder at the coincidence of pork and mustard. On my lunch break, a long conversation with Schneider about Hayseeds plans and other, later schemes. Talking to him always cheers me up. If his talent as a DP wasn't a good enough excuse to him someone on a film set, I'd have to invent some sort of "morale officer" job.
Ran into Jeremy last night (another filmmaker, boyfriend of my neighbor) and toasted to my script at his suggestion. I hadn't tried Red Stripe before -- not bad. Went well with red beans and rice. It's good that everyone is so excited, since it bodes well for the potential box office, but I'm not going to be able to get excited about it until I have a shooting schedule and general shot list blocked out.
