If you keep Ciro's copies too long, or if you return them with fingerprints on them, he will not be angry, but this is only due to sheer force of will, because he knows anger would be unreasonable. Maybe you grew up around private libraries where a thoroughly read appearance was a form of recommendation. Ciro spent time in public libraries, where the read books were the pedestrian ones. He likes books less once they don't look new. He won't say anything about it, but it will make him sad. You may notice that he smells the binding, just to check.
