100% of people prefer "The Sleeping People," including me, and it seems you prefer it for the same reasons I prefer it. Excellent. I have felt this way from the beginning, but wanted to check that it wasn't just a Romie quirk. ("Sleepy People" is the name of the short story, and was the working title because it's shorter and fits on film cans easily, but the screenplay has always said "The Sleeping People.") Thank you for your thoughtful responses, particularly those which referenced existentialism and genre conventions. The words "existential" and "genre" always make me smile, guaranteed.
