so many kindnesses
Nov. 30th, 2007 12:38 amSomehow, abruptly, the touch barrier has broken down and when friends at school talk to me they cradle my neck or hold my hand or put fingertips on my arm and shoulder. It's a relief. I don't know what changed things. Maybe the turmoil of the script pitching sessions. Only the shift spans classes and diciplines. I'm very grateful. And people smile when they see me for no reason other than that they see me, which is not new, but which is still wonderous.
Today, Steve came up behind me and draped something over my shoulder, and I looked down to see it was a prop bag from one of our shoots - a WWII film. A Waring & Gilbow MkVII British Gas Mask Bag. Indiana Jones's bag. I have the same bag as Indy. Just because Steve knew I liked it.
