In the past 24 hours, I have received word of one friend's engagement, and an invitation to another friend's wedding. In both cases, I knew they were coming, and both are excellent news. Both are also far away, as is the man I love, and consequently I am feeling sad for myself, which has manifested itself as an annoyance with wikipedia for not having an entry on platinum sterling.

Why was I not informed of this new alloy? How am I to keep abreast of jewelry trends in the face of this laxity? I, who reread the entry on sterling silver not two months ago, and saw no mention?
