Uncle Rex: Your mother says that she does not mind missing the wedding, but I believe she is crushed.

Chris: Although Romie says that she does not care that her parents are not present, it is my contention that she is privately heartbroken. I would like to bring a friend.

Mom: I have been told that Aunt Caroline is distressed that she was not invited, although she has not said anything to anyone.

Kay: While Turtle says she is not upset about the wedding and never forbade you from dating Patrick, I recall from times past that this is not the case. Also, can I come?

Kim Faith: I'm going to cry if you don't invite me, and also Val's going to kill you although she claims to be happy.

Winston Churchill: In [Romie and Patrick's wedding], truth is so precious that she should always be attended by a bodyguard of lies.

Romie and Patrick deliberately seed misinformation through a series of phone calls to the effect that they wedding has been cancelled and they are moving to Zanzibar. Arielle contacts the nearest police station and files a missing persons report.

Saturday, 10:52 AM. Countermeasure Two.

After an open casting call, five couples are selected to stand in as dummy Romie and Patricks in various locations around the city. Max builds an additional three anamatronic brides and grooms, but two have to be scrapped due to fatal processing errors.

Saturday, 12:33 PM. Countermeasure Five.

Ciro launches a major propaganda campaign attempting to prove that the Reverend Charles Moore has been stripped of his orders. The marriage licence is shown to be a forgery.

Saturday, 3:45 PM. Countermeasure Six.

Painters begin work on the walls of Clinton House, setting it into complete disarray and making it utterly unsuitable as a wedding location. When asked about the ceremony, Patrick and Romie vaguely say "in the park" and refuse to give directions to the nebulous "game store" where the reception will be held.

Saturday, 6:02 PM. Countermeasure Seven.

As the guests follow Romie and Patrick to the top secret wedding location, the two suddenly cut all running lights and make a sharp right turn while bridekick Chad jumps from the back of the car holding two red lights and jogs against the flow of traffic.

Saturday, 6:23 PM. Countermeasure Eight.

Attempts by Uncle Rex to video the ceremony are thwarted when it is revealed that the camera was not on. It is later discovered that an electromagnetic pulse was fired from somewhere within a mile of the park.

Saturday, 6:24 PM. Countermeasure Nine.

Dan is shown to be concealing a "date" unknown to Romie. Stretch quietly removes her for a "talk" in the bushes, from which only Stretch re-emerges.

Saturday, 7:03 PM. Endgame.

Patrick and Romie leave for the reception, content in the knowlege that the guest list stayed under 20 despite the unexpected arrival of at least six uninvited operatives. Well-wishers attempt to telephone.

Romie's cell phone begins its self-destruct sequence.
