Ever since Patrick and I became "an item," we have noticed a severe drop in productivity. Although I maintain that a good part of it has more to do with vacationing than coupledom, the trend is distressing to both of us -- it's hard enough being artistic creative types without having to worry about the production-to-procreation ratio. It doesn't help that we're both, in our own seperate and distinct ways, workaholics, (which term most people would probably laugh hear me apply to myself,) and that we obsess about, well, everything.
It's a decent first paragraph. I'm speaking of this entry. Decent, I think. Not brilliant, or anything, but decent. It's taken me about an hour, most of which I've spent playing an arcade game I don't like. I came in here with an entry in mind -- an entry I was working on last night when I was irritated with everyone in the entire world -- even angry -- and fired most of them. Several times. Chances are if you're reading this you've been fired at least once. I assure you it's not personal. The entry, however, was personal, and was not actually angry. It was on the subject of loyalty as it applies to me and the protection I extend to the handful I consider to be "my people."
I am, after all, very posessive in my own strange millieu.
Also slightly vengeful, but we don't talk about that. Not if we know what's good for us.
Note to self: clip fingernails, which are getting too long to play piano without clicking.
I wonder whether I offer severence packages to the people I fire. Probably not, unless you count continuing to interact with them and not actually informing most of them that they no longer work for me, or that they did in the first place. This is more an insulation against damages, as most people become very obstreperous when exposed to the idea that they are my ex-employees.
Why, I can't imagine.
Hopefully this will be cleared up during a board meeting.
