I've been here less than fourteen hours, and I've already had my left arm mauled by Pippin, experienced one of REL's screaming fits, and retreated to the computer lab as the only haven of sanity. I can't even get a good homecooked meal, because the kitchen is under construction, nor can I sleep in my bed, which has too much junk piled on it. I had to search the entire house for a quilt and a pillow and crash on the sofa. I blended in so well with the crap that The Parents walked by me a dozen times without noticing and I was nearly sat upon by a foreman.

I sometimes wonder if I oughtn't be concerned that I regard this sort of thing as ordinary.
