Somewhere I Must Have Done Something Wrong in Getting Here

I'm getting better at leaving. That doesn't make it easier - just smoother. I've got the timing down, shortcuts and workarounds; I can cut it shorter. Give myself less time to cry in. I can back mechanically. I can pick the right thing to read on the plane. I head to a place with friends and plans; know what my bed feels like and where to eat lunch.

I arrive, and Ciro's not here. It doesn't get easier.

"I just want to hide under my desk and cry, but when I come out everything will be saline." - [livejournal.com profile] jonquil, a misquote

I like your version better than mine.

And wishes for gentler times.

I'm sad because I have just gotten back to London and I miss my boyfriend. I am excited about school though, which is why I'm back in London, and I guess that is my way of standing firm. It's hard sometimes. Thanks for your support.

Yes, stand firm!

But then I would hit my head on the desk!

Desk...?

Do I wanna know what your head was doing below the desk in the first place?

I would tell you to get your mind out of the gutter, but there aren't usually gutters under desks. In fact, I was making reference to the "hide under my desk and cry" quote.

So the implication is that you're sharing the underside of a desk with Jonquil? I don't see how that was supposed to get my mind out of the gutter.
