I did a quick search in 1805 checking entries for Nelson, brandy, and Beatty, and find nothing. This is a matter of some delicacy and might be discussed in euphemisms, however, or merely alluded to.

It seems remarkable to turn up no reference at all to Beatty there. The magazine is gossipy and I'm surprised not to see him namechecked.
