Ready for this day to be over

Ciro had insomnia, so I slept badly. When I got to work, my computer stopped functioning. I got IT to replace it, and that computer also didn't work. I spent about three hours wrestling with the two of them. Then e-mail for the entire office stopped working. I now have to do twice as much work tomorrow, and I don't expect the computers to be working then either. Just before I left, Ciro told me he'd be sleeping at James's so they can leave for a location recce at the crack of dawn without waking me up.

I was very grateful that The Downward Spiral was in my car. When that album came out, I was young enough that most of the fans I knew liked it provocatively

(Don't get me wrong: I started listening to Lou Reed, Bob Dylan, and Alien Sex Fiend mostly to piss a roommate off, and similar motivations got Ciro to Philip Glass. I tried this process with Black Sabbath, but couldn't get into them. Iggy Pop I always liked.)

and were the sort of people who didn't realize Beavis and Butthead were figures of fun rather than ideals. As a result, I avoided Nine Inch Nails for years, which was a mistake. Downward Spiral is so well crafted I have trouble doing anything else while it's on, because I want to pay more attention to the music.

The other high point of my day was my first cup of coffee in a couple months. (My caffeine tolerance had gotten unmanageable.) It was bad coffee but who cares it was awesome.

And I might get to move shifts at work in such a way that I can occasionally attend plays, concerts, and gallery openings. Maybe. And someone from many film sets ago asked to use one of my production stills for a project (and it was my favorite of the set as well, which reassures me that I sometimes know what I'm talking about as a photographer).

As part of his character work, Ciro asked me whether his character was a fan of Inception.
