I did know that about silk! It's always struck me as an extremely useful material, one of the few that is valuable and also incredibly utile. (The others that leap to mind are diamonds and gold.) It's a nice contrast to things that are cheap but very useful (water, wool) and things that are expensive but not very useful. I love that you are doing all this survival training since you are on my team in the event of a doomsday scenario.
