on to the heart of the sunrise

We only have to write one paper a term (or more accurately, one paper every two terms, but it covers both and we're expected to work on it continuously - it's a work and research journal), but it's agonizing. There's basically no way to write it without sounding both pretentious and droning. I'm about five and a half pages in, and I need to reach twelve; it's not that I can't fill up the word count, but that I find I have to stop about every half hour to recover. I'm also trying to avoid talking about the thing I can really go on about at length, which is a rant about the script panels, because otherwise I'll wind up writing 30 pages without covering what I actually need to cover.

As a result, I am prevented from writing stuff I want to write, like an lj update, or two really exciting scripts. I do write really long e-mails, because, you see, they don't count.

I'll get through it. Aside from that, I'm having a wonderful time. My crew works together brilliantly, Ciro's back in school, I'm excited about my plans for the future along with the material I'm working on now, and my social life has been exactly as I like it - dancing dragons, Ang Lee films in exclusive cinemas, stunning photographic portraits, wine and cheese, and fun with camera equipment - all with some of my favorite people. And I keep getting showered with chocolate, which is fortunate for my caloric intake. The weather's still shit, of course. But the main film I worked on last term is being sent out to festivals.
