knows how to catch a wave upon the sand
Since I found out Ciro wasn't coming, I've looked tired. He looks tired too. Maybe it's my eyes and not our faces. Maybe it's coincidence, his toothache, my vitamin deficiency. In the mirror, there are hollows above my cheeks. My eyes look dark and hard - tight, with a fervent lunatic glimmer. I see a person I'd be wary about talking to. I see grief that I wouldn't be aware of if it wasn't on my face. During the Houston road trip (our only roadtrip, and not much of one, though we are seperately known for vast highway journeys), I showed Ciro my favorite girl trick: if a woman wears red lipstick, you don't notice she's tired.
I am almost out of red lipstick.
Today, I am wearing my blue skull socks and red button jacket, and although the beginning of this entry makes me seem down, I am not down - just tired.
I had to pack all of my stuff to move to another room - something I'll have to to again in a week or so. In order to pack, I had to block the door to the room for about an hour. The placement of my built-in closet defies logic.
The sidewalks to and from school were full of idiotmobs - groups or individuals who don't move forward so much as sway side to side such that no one may pass or advance. In a few cases, I had to use my umbrella as a club to get past them. I don't know why it was so bad today; it's a Tuesday, and the weather is unexceptional.
